About the city of São Paulo
The city of São Paulo is the second largest metropolis of Latin America in terms of population - almost 11 million inhabitants. Founded in 1554 by the Jesuits, today S. Paulo is considered one of the five larger metropolitan areas of the world. It is the financial and cultural centre of Brazil and the largest consumer and producer market of the country.
The state of São Paulo has a very diversified economy with the largest industrial complex in Latin America. The metal-mechanic, alcool and sugar, textile, automobile and aviation industries; the services and financial sectors; and the orange, sugar cane and coffee cultures support an economy which is responsible for, approximately, 1/3 of the Brazilian GNP.
The capital of the state, São Paulo, is one of the most active cultural centers of the country, with a variety of options of cinemas, theatres and museums, presenting the best of national and international artistic productions. The city is also famous for its gastronomy, offering more than 10 thousand restaurants, showcasing the cooking of 42 ethnical groups, and 15 thousand pubs for the participants interested in a pleasant happy hour.

Agrishow
The Agrishow is an annual fair occurring in the five Brazilian regions. From May 15th throough 20th, the exposition will take place in the city of Ribeirão Preto, in the state of São Paulo. It’s the greatest agro-cattle exposition of the country and one of the world’s largest this sector. It covers 190 thousand square meters and welcomes an average 150 thousand visitors yearly. The 2005 version had the participation of 720 exhibitors – 640 from the country and 80 from abroad:
