    A livestock businesswoman and philanthropist, Llorens is committed to the conservation and protection of biodiversity. She is the Director of the Zoological and Botanical Gardens of Asunción, Paraguay, and President of the Maris Llorens Foundation. She holds a number of positions in other organizations of the livestock and meat sector.

    In recognition of his contributions to Agricultural Development and Agribusiness in Latin America and the Caribbean

    The former President is an Agricultural Engineer, who served as Secretary of State of Agriculture and coordinator of the overall agriculture sector. He has completed studies in Business Administration and Agribusiness at the University of North Carolina in the United States.  He has dedicated his professional life and political career to democracy and to poverty reduction, by modernizing the production infrastructure and supporting areas such as Education, Health, Food and Rural Development. He is also someone with an interest in social protection of the Environment.
